About Multiversity Architects And Planners Studio

MAPS, founded in 1996, is a global design practice led by its principals Tan Hock Beng and Maria Hartati. With offices in Singapore and Bangkok, the office’s portfolio has always been broad based in its geographic breadth. It has earned an international reputation for its ability to generate thought provoking design solutions for its discriminating clientele from vastly varied cultural contexts. We believe that “if architecture begins with finding, it must end with searching.” Creating architecture is like a series of journeys without maps. It is the result of a patient process: working through alternatives in direction and expression to find out what is most important, what to say about it and how best to say it- in that order. Once one is satisfied in this respect, the work can then take on subordinate layers in the search for meaning and order. Hence we are concerned not only with materiality but especially with immateriality. We are a vibrant multi-disciplinary design practice working on exciting hospitality projects worldwide. Based in Singapore and Bangkok, we are seeking talented, passionate and energetic designers to join our studios.
