Job Summary
Assist in preparing and cooking food items by following recipes and hygiene standards while supporting kitchen operations to ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling, measuring, and portioning according to recipe requirements
- Cook food items following restaurant recipes and quality standards
- Support chefs and cooks in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks
- Ensure food is prepared and presented meeting hygiene and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas
- Receive, store, and organize food ingredients and kitchen supplies efficiently
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures consistently
- Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed
- Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties to ensure readiness and cleanliness
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or restaurant environments is an advantage but not mandatory
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen-related tasks
- Responsible, reliable, and committed to maintaining food quality and hygiene standards
