Association of Singapore Marine & Offshore Energy Industries The Association of Singapore Marine & Offshore Energy Industries (ASMI) has a rich history that began in 1968 as the Singapore Association of Shipbuilding and Repair (SASAR). In 1988, it underwent a pivotal rebranding and was renamed the Association of Singapore Marine Industries. Fast forward to 2023, ASMI has once again evolved to align with the industry's commitment and ambition towards sustainable growth and a net-zero future. The association is now known as the Association of Singapore Marine and Offshore Energy Industries, reflecting its dedication to delivering green product solutions for the global Marine and Offshore Energy sector, encompassing areas such as offshore wind and new energies. ASMI is a non-profit trade association set up in 1968 to promote the interest and advancement of the marine industry in Singapore. ASMI represents the different sectors of the Singapore marine and offshore industry in the business of ship repair and conversion, shipbuilding, rigbuilding and offshore energy.
